Thank you, Amy!

Ms. Amy, thanks for hosting our bike ride at your fabulous new house. What a perfect spot to start the rides. And it's so nice to know you can get in one last pee before you head out. The ride was invigorating and I'm geeked to do it again next Saturday!

As an aside, I'll be heading to the Y bright and early in the morning to do a little spinning and weight lifting if anyone cares to join me. I'll be leaving my house at 5:45 a.m. and I'll check email to see if anyone wants a ride.

Have a great week, everyone!

Swimming in the morning

It's a little late to be posting this now but what the heck...Cynthia and I are swimming at the Y tomorrow morning at 6:00 a.m. if anyone wants to join us.

pimped my ride!

Hi everybody - I got some sweet tires and toe thingys on my dad's old cross bike. It's now a speed machine! Unfortunately I've been too scared to ride it because I had trouble with the clips on the stationary bike. But if you guys are up for a ride this Saturday, I'd go along!

So this is week 4, eh? So far, so good. The training hasn't been as painful as I thought, but then again I haven't ridden a bike outside yet, nor have I run for more than 30 mins. without stopping. Hope you're all doing well. Glad so many are doing DxA2!

Hope to see you on the road soon,
Ann

Hi - anybody doing the dexter-ann arbor run? It's Sunday May 31. I've signed up for the 5K. They have 10K and 1/2 marathon. I'm a little nervous about running in an actual race, and I hope to see some of you tri girls there! http://www.dexterannarborrun.com/

Ride on Saturday Morning

Hello Everyone,

So it is Midnight on friday - we are supposed to meet at 8:30 am for a ride - the weather is predicting, not only rain but thunder. I will post something at 8am and send an email -but I think there is a good chance we will have to do it next week. Riding in thunderstorms is not my idea of a good way to be on your bike. :)

stay tuned

thanks,
Amy

2 helpful running websites

Hi - since I spend a lot more time sitting in front of a computer than I do running, I have lots of time to THINK about running! Here are two websites I've used for plotting distances and calculting pace:
http://www.daftlogic.com/projects-google-maps-distance-calculator.htm
http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/4/4_1/96.shtml
Hope everyone's doing great. I'll miss you on the bike ride, but I'll be there for another one!

What to Wear?

I think I asked this at our first dinner back in February. I still can't get my head around what one wears. The thought of biking or running in a swim suit sounds yucky, not to mention chaffing-causing. But I don't want the drag of swimming in running shorts and a tank. And I am not spending $100+ on a tri suit, especially when they're not easy-off for the multiple trips to the bathroom I invariably take before a race.

What are you all planning to wear? Tri veterans, what do you suggest?

time to get out and ride

Hello Ladies -

so let's get out on the bike on Saturday morning. It looks like saturday morning is the best day - and its split down the middle between 8 and 9am - so perhaps we can meet at 8:30. Let me know if you have constrictions and need to meet at 8am (ie - you have a soccer game at 9am)

I think we should meet at Barton Park on Huron River Drive. I will post directions -

but for now - save the date and the time! Also bring your running shoes.

Let me know if you can make it!

Be well!
Amy
